  • You can only complete your FAFSA once per academic year
  • You can submit your FAFSA to as many schools as you would like
  • You can begin filling your FAFSA as early as January each year, but February is recommended since many people do not fill out their tax returns before February. Tax returns are required to complete your FAFSA.
  • Submitting your FAFSA late in the year typically results in delays in financial aid at any university
  • Submitting a late FAFSA could jeopardize your eligibility for some grants or scholarships
  • Visit www.fafsa.ed.gov and follow the prompts, call 1-800-4-FEDAID for assistance

To apply for financial aid at UAA make sure to complete the steps below.

  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Apply for degree seeking admission
  • Apply for scholarships
  • Calculate your expenses for the school year
  • Receive your financial aid award letter and respond to requests for information

The FAFSA must be completed and submitted online at www.fafsa.ed.gov
You can sign your FAFSA using one of two methods:

  1. PIN – request a PIN online at www.pin.ed.gov Your PIN will be emailed to you within 3 business days (best method of signing the FAFSA)
  2. Signature Page – print off the last page of the online FAFSA application, sign it and mail it in (least preferred method)

FAFSA Status
