The BSE program celebrated its first birthday on February 17, 2006. The BSE program was designed to enhance the other engineering programs at UAA and at other UA campuses, and its working! We want to thank the UA Board of Regents for it approval a year ago in Juneau. We would also like to thank Industry, UA President Mark Hamilton, and UAA Chancellor Elaine Maimon for their support.

As of September 27, 2005, the BSE program has 100 students for its first semester! This is far more than the 12 students expected for the first semester when the program was approved in February 2005.

The UAA Chancellor, Elaine Maimon, declared Friday, April 22, 2005 as "BSE Day". It was a very successful event. More than 100 members of industry and the community attended. Displays from geomatics, ANSEP, and the BSE program were made available along with new flyers and other information about the BSE program. Certificates of Appreciation, a small reflection of our gratitude, were given to donating individuals and companies. Thanks to everyone that attended and to our supportive engineering industry members.
