We offer the only Geomatics program in Alaska. What in the world is GEOMATICS? Geomatics is a newer term that encompasses the fields of Surveying, Mapping, Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry, Hydrography, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Our department is fully committed to help educate students to meet the tremendous industry demand. We offer a modern curriculum, instruction with the latest industry standard software, and the fully equipped Trimble Geomatics Lab and brand new AeroMap U.S. & DAT/EM Systems International Photogrammetry Lab. All of this in the incredible setting of Alaska, The Last Frontier.

The Department of Geomatics at UAA offers the following programs in Geomatics:
- Bachelor of Science in Geomatics with a choice of two emphasis areas: Survey Geomatics or Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Geomatics.
- Certificate in Geographic Information Systems.
