More than 200 K-12 students participate in the 2008 National Engineers Week competition held at the University of Alaska Anchorage School of Engineering on February 23, 2008 for the Anchorage area and Southcentral Alaska schools. FIRST LEGO League Robotics competition on the UAA campus held January 12, 2008. More than 400 students ages 9-14 participtated from around Alaska including Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, Cordova, Palmer, Bethel, Soldotna, Nikiski, Homer, and Kodiak.
